Mario Biondi, origini catanesi e figlio d’arte, inizia a cantare a soli 12 anni, in giro per la Sicilia. È il 1988 quando in un locale di musica nera e jazz il “Tout Va” di Taormina, incontra i grandi musicisti Black della musica l’oltralpe. Fa da spalla e incontra il grande Ray Charles. Si innamora di quella musica black che fa palpitare le corde e l’anima. Inizia ad ascoltare i dischi di Lou Rawls, Al Jarreau, Bill Withers, Isaac Hayes e Donny Hataway, e la sua voce si incontra con il genere. È l’inizio del suo background artistico che lo porterà ad abbandanore la canzone italiana per dedicarsi alla sua passione: la musica Black. Il suo pezzo “This is what you are” fa il giro del mondo ed è qui che ve lo ripropongo in tutta la sua bellezza.
